Schola Elementary Enrichment Classes provide classroom learning experiences for students in grades four through six by supplementing their studies at home.
- Multi-level: Schola Elementary Enrichment Classes are appropriate for grades four through six, so siblings can enroll in the same class.
- Repeatable: Schola Elementary Enrichment Classes include individual practice or projects that students can benefit from each time they take the class.
- Goal-directed: Schola Elementary Enrichment Classes include participation in a culminating activity including a collection of writings, a play, a science fair, and geography and math bees.
- Fun!: Schola Elementary Enrichment Classes provide a fun way to explore new topics and practice important skills. Classes meet one hour per week and have one hour or less of homework each week. No grades are issued.
Students who are nine years of age by September first may enroll in one or more of the Elementary Enrichment Classes. Please note that we cannot accommodate elementary students in Schola Study Hall.
Writing Workshop
trains students in basic writing skills. Students will be exposed to The Student Writing Intensive Level A (Institute for Excellence in Writing) DVD series, learning how to write with “structure and style.” Different types of creative writing will be explored as well. Students will participate in “writing workshops” in class and have light writing assignments to be done at home.

Minimus Latin
is a unique course providing a lively introduction to the Latin language and the culture of Roman Britain with a highly illustrated mix of comic strips, stories and myths. The course centers on a real family who lived at Vindolanda in 100AD: Flavius, the fort commander, his wife Lepidina, their three children, assorted household slaves, their cat Vibrissa - and Minimus the mouse! It features many of the artifacts and writing tablets from the Vindolanda excavations.

Geography / Science Fair
Fall: This class will explore world geography in preparation for participation in the National Geographic Geography Bee in December .
Spring: This class will explore the scientific method and prepare a science project for participation in a Science Fair in May.

Fall: Students will explore history topics in conjunction with the topics covered in Geography Bee class that meets right before. The classes can be taken together or separately.

Math Games
Addition. Multiplication Tables. Fractions. Decimals. What better way to learn the ins and outs of math facts, than with fun and exciting math games? Math Games is an enrichment class for 4th-6th graders; the class is designed to develop a student's understanding of math facts, while increasing his/her math drill speed and accuracy. Math Games will include weekly timed drills,
as well as games that may include dice, word problems, logic skills, and math-related brainteasers. Though no grades will be issued, regular progress reports will be sent to the parents. Math Games - where math is fun.
