Curriculum

TGC Elementary 6 provides the core for the Cottage 6th Grade. Using history as the organizing theme, TGC Elementary covers literature, geography, writing, and public speaking, as well as poetry, art and music appreciation, and some science, while incorporating Christian worldview studies throughout the curriculum.

This interdisciplinary class is history and language-intensive. Reading real literature and digging into topics in written assignments, projects, and presentations encourages the development of literate, curious, intelligent students who have a wide range of interests and the ability to follow up on them.

TGC Elementary follows a three-year cycle of history, and students may begin in any year.

  • Ancient World (2025/2026)
  • Medieval World through the American Revolution (2026/2027)
  • 1800's (2024/2025)

Home Studies

  • The average student should plan to devote approximately one hour or less each week to homework.
  • Regular progress reports will be sent to parents.

Prerequisites
